Global Heat Health Information Network partners are organizations that are committed to reducing the rising risks of extreme heat to health and well-being worldwide. From UN agencies, national weather services and public health institutes, to leading universities, humanitarian actors, city networks, and private sector innovators, our partners share a common mission: to ensure that no life or livelihood is lost to extreme heat.
Why become a partner?
Joining our Network offers a platform for organizations to scale-up their efforts to address heat risk through collaboration on global, high-impact initiatives that cross sectors, borders and build on the collective knowledge of a vast Network of experts. Partners gain access to a global community of practice, learning opportunities, and help shape technical and policy guidance that influence international, national and local agendas.
Eligibility
The Network welcomes contributing partners from a wide range of sectors committed to advancing heat-health resilience. Eligible organizations include intergovernmental bodies (including UN agencies), government institutions with relevant mandates, non-governmental and civil society organizations, international business associations, academic and research institutions, and philanthropic foundations.
Individual experts are welcome to participate in many Network activities, apply to be listed in our expert database, and subscribe to our newsletter to receive our monthly digest. However, there is no official membership category for individuals at this time.
What’s expected
Participation in the Network is voluntary, and no membership fee is required. We do ask, however, that Partners remain active in our Network by contributing to our initiatives and projects, amplifying our messaging, and regularly sharing relevant news, resources and opportunities with the Network. Partners also commit to providing support (either in cash or in-kind support, such as staff time or technical expertise). In addition, they are encouraged to propose joint activities, support capacity building, and help drive collective impact across the Network.
