Sarah RAUZANA (Youth Representative)
ASEAN Youth Organization
Chairperson
Sarah Rauzana is a public policy and youth engagement advocate with over five years of experience working across government, the private sector, and civil society. Her work lies at the intersection of environment, public health, and youth empowerment. Deeply committed to environmental justice, Sarah has collaborated with NGOs, governments, and international partners to advance advocacy and campaigns addressing climate change, sustainability, and environmental protection at national, regional, and global levels.
As the Chairperson of the ASEAN Youth Organization (AYO)—a youth-led, ASEAN Prize-winning organization—Sarah leads initiatives that promote regional awareness, unity, and meaningful youth participation in solving pressing social and environmental challenges.
Her roles as Co-Director of Cool Cities Southeast Asia (CCSEA), Senior Network and Outreach Lead at Dietplastik Indonesia, and Ambassador for Break Free From Plastic have deepened her understanding of the drivers of rising global temperatures, particularly those linked to the waste sector and the life cycle of products that contribute to heat-related issues. These experiences have strengthened her commitment to addressing the heat issue in the ASEAN region through upstream advocacy and campaigns that embody the principles of planetary health.
