Regional Thematic Lead, Health and Care

Currently Sushma is the IFRC Asia Pacific Regional Lead for Health and Care based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She has 20 years of experience in public health with expertise in working with governments to support national health strategy and policy and led health programmes. Her expertise also extends to climate health initiatives including supporting National Red Cross in several countries across Asia Pacific, specifically to support and provide technical assistance for anticipatory actions and early warnings for climate induced infectious diseases, heatwave response and climate resilient health systems, community resilience and organizational readiness to support vulnerable populations in the face of climate/heat challenges.
